The Avid Angler is a 32 foot Carver with a full enclosed cabin, spacious deck, and a standup bathroom. Our vessel also possesses a flying bridge that people really enjoy for watching all the action, taking pictures, and catching some rays on a nice sunny day. Avid Angler is powered by twin 350 Volvo Pentas in addition to a 15hp Honda for trolling. A complete safety approved inspection is done annually by the US Coast Guard.
Avid Angler Charters is locally owned and operated. We've sent many smiling faces back to the cruise ships for the last ten years after the fishing experience of a lifetime. We're located right next to the cruise ships in town. We'll be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. The fishing grounds are a short 20 minute boat ride from town. Seasickness is a rare occurrence as the waters are somewhat protected. We recognize this may be the fishing experience of a lifetime and will do everything to make it a memorable one. If we do not fish due to inclement weather you will receive a full refund. We are not affiliated with the cruise ships.
Water, sodas, and light snacks are provided on the boat. Fishing licenses for the state of Alaska are sold onboard for a fee of $20 for those over 16yrs of age. During King salmon season, May-June, a $10 king stamp has to be purchased. All the bait, tackle, and rain gear if needed is provided. Processing forms are on the boat and just need to be filled out in order to have the fish shipped via Fedex to your home with a date that you specify on the form. Any fisherman wanting beer can ask and I will have it on the boat and you can reimburse me upon arrival.
